Performing Arts

The provision of performing arts plays a pivotal role in fostering holistic development and enriching the educational experience of students. Participating in performing arts disciplines not only allows students to express themselves but also contributes to their cognitive, emotional, and social development. You can follow our Performing Arts account on Instagram for exclusive content and updates.

Theatre

Theatre is a dynamic part of life at Greenfield International School, with students developing their creativity through both our academic curriculum and extensive ACE programme. Students study Theatre throughout the IB Middle Years Programme, including the MYP Theatre ePortfolio, and can continue their theatrical journey through the IB Diploma Programme Literature and Performance course.

Students are encouraged to explore character, storytelling and performance while developing confidence, communication and collaboration skills within a creative and supportive environment. Beyond the classroom, they have opportunities to participate in workshops, performances and productions throughout the year.

Our Primary and Secondary school productions are among the highlights of the school calendar, providing students with exciting opportunities to perform on stage, develop their theatrical skills and showcase their talents to the wider school community.

Students study Music throughout the IB Middle Years Programme, including the MYP Music ePortfolio, and can continue their musical journey through the IB Diploma Programme Music course.

Our music rooms provide access to a wide range of traditional and contemporary instruments. Beyond the classroom, students are encouraged to explore a variety of instruments and participate in choirs, bands and performance opportunities throughout the year. One of our student rock bands currently holds the title of Best School Band in Dubai, having won the prestigious AMP Awards.

We also work closely with the Centre for Musical Arts, one of Dubai’s premier providers of instrumental music tuition, offering students high-quality one-to-one instrumental lessons during the school day.

Dance

Dance is an exciting part of life at Greenfield International School, with students developing their creativity through both our academic curriculum and extensive ACE programme. Dance is embedded within the younger years of the IB Middle Years Programme Performing Arts curriculum, where students explore movement, performance and choreography as a means of creative expression.

Beyond the classroom, our Primary and Secondary Dance Squads are an integral part of school life, performing regularly in productions, concerts and whole-school events. Students also have the opportunity to represent the school at the annual Desert Dance showcase, performing alongside schools from across Dubai.

We offer Beginner and Intermediate level Guitar ECA studies once a week. The Beginner sessions are open to students when they reach Grade 10 and teaches them how to play chords, strum, and grasp the basics of how to use the instrument as a tool for song writing.  Students who complete the Beginner ECA are then eligible to move up to Intermediate where they learn how to play melodies and combine these with the chords already learnt. Guitars can be borrowed from the school for use throughout ECA programmes.
