Application Process

Applying to Greenfield International School is a simple three-step process.

1. Online Application

Please complete our Online Application Form. All applications are digital. We have no paper applications. As soon as you have submitted your form, we’ll send you an email to reassure you that we have what we need to start your application and to help you prepare for Step Two.

2. Documentation

The email from Greenfield International School will provide a list of required documents and how to contact our Admissions Team to make an appointment for assessment and payment of a one-time non-refundable and non-transferable Application Fee.

All students applying to Greenfield International School are required to be assessed, regardless of age, grade, school or country they are from.

Before you arrive for your Assessment, please scan and email the following documents to admissions@gischool.ae.

A recent passport-sized photo of each child for whom a place is required

A copy of each child’s passport and residence visa. If you haven’t received the residence visa by the time you come for your Assessment, try to get it to us as soon as you can

A copy of each parent’s or guardian’s passport and residence visa

A copy of each side of each child’s and each parent’s or guardian’s Emirates ID. Again, if you haven’t got them yet, these can be provided as soon they’re available

A copy of each child’s medical and vaccination record. Please note that while vaccinations should be up to date, no offer of a place at GIS will ever be conditional upon a medical condition

A copy of each child’s most recent school report is attached to the previous school’s letterhead and signed and stamped by a school representative.

A copy of any diagnostic testing or psychological or educational assessment that may be relevant to each child

3. Assessment

We will contact you with a date for your child’s placement assessment, which will be administered by the Admissions Office and Greenfield International School faculty. After assessment and upon receiving an acceptance letter, a deposit fee is required to reserve your seat. A seat cannot be held until the deposit payment is received. We will advise of the amount in the acceptance letter.

Acceptance to Greenfield International School is contingent upon the results of the placement assessment, student interview and former school reports.

Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) mandate that every student in Dubai needs to have their KHDA Parent-School Contract signed BEFORE your child joins the school.

The Parent-School Contract

Clarity and transparency are key to a constructive relationship between schools and the families they serve and enables a schooling experience that has a child’s wellbeing at its heart. The Parent-School contract has been introduced with this in mind. It ensures that both schools and parents are aware of their duties and responsibilities towards each other and towards their children. It is to the benefit to both schools and families that this relationship is based on agreed terms and conditions, set out clearly in the form of a contract.

 The terms and conditions stipulated in the contract will also be a reference for dispute resolution. The KHDA will uphold the agreement stipulated in the contract when a party refers a matter to KHDA for deliberation and endorsement. Families are encouraged to read the contract carefully and to sign it only after all queries have been addressed by the school. In addition to the contract, schools should have effective procedures in place to address and mitigate parental concerns and complaints. Parents should also be recognised and used as a valuable resource in the educational experience of their children. Your child’s school will generate a contract for you to agree and sign at the beginning of each school year.

Once you have downloaded the KHDA Parent-School contract (PSC), there are four simple steps to follow:

Use your Emirates ID to register as a new parent. You’ll receive a one-time password by SMS and email. If you have registered previously and encounter any login difficulties, make sure you are using the same parent’s details as last year.
Choose your own new password when prompted.
Once you are logged in, you’ll be able to see your child on the home screen. Select your child and follow the on-screen instructions to sign the contract. If you have more than one child, you will need to sign the KHDA Parent School Contract for each child.

For all students entering Grade 2 and above at Greenfield International School, regardless of their country of origin or educational curriculum, providing a Transfer Certificate is a mandatory requirement.

Students transitioning from a licensed school/nursery in Dubai or from a school outside of Dubai into Pre-K must submit an online Transfer Certificate. Our Admissions Team will gladly assist you in this process.

Here are some guidelines:

During the application process, a non-refundable Application Fee of AED 525 applies to new students only as per government regulations. Please note that a placement assessment will not be conducted until the application fee is received.
Once a seat is offered, a non-refundable tuition deposit/registration fee of AED 3,447 to 4,000 (depending on the Grade level) is required for new students. This fee must be paid within five days of receiving the acceptance letter.

Key Dates

1st August – deadline for payment of the first term’s fees

25th August – first day of school for Primary School students, Grade 6 and Grade 11 students

26^th August – first day for Grade 7-10 and Grade 12 students

Applications for admission from students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) should provide comprehensive supporting evidence. These applications will undergo a thorough review in collaboration with Senior Leaders and the school’s Head of Inclusion to assess how best to cater to the child’s need.
