Arabic Language

At Greenfield International School, we believe that Arabic is more than a subject; it is a gateway to language, culture, identity and belonging. Our Arabic programme is aligned with the requirements of the UAE Ministry of Education and KHDA, while reflecting the inquiry-based principles of the International Baccalaureate.

Arabic is a compulsory subject for all students. In Pre-K, KG1 and KG2, Arabic is delivered in line with the UAE’s mandatory subject requirements, providing all children with a strong foundation in the language through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences. From Grade 1 onwards, Arab students (holding an Arab passport) study Arabic A as a first language, while non-Arab students study Arabic B as an additional language, in accordance with Ministry of Education regulations. Our curriculum develops students’ proficiency across the four key language strands: listening, speaking, reading and writing. 

As part of our commitment to preserving and celebrating Emirati culture and identity, Arabic learning is closely connected to our UAE Social Studies and Moral Education programmes. Together, these subjects foster a strong sense of national identity, responsible citizenship, cultural understanding and respect for the values that shape the UAE society. 

Through cultural celebrations, competitions, reading initiatives and community events, students are provided with opportunities to use Arabic beyond the classroom and develop pride in their language, culture and heritage.

UAE Social Studies

The UAE Social Studies programme enables students to develop a deeper understanding of the history, geography, culture and achievements of the United Arab Emirates. Through inquiry and real-world connections, students explore the nation’s heritage, values and vision for the future while developing a strong sense of national identity and responsible citizenship.
